Evolved from traditional techniques used in India for over a thousand years as part of family rituals, this is a seated massage working through the clothes to the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, face and scalp.
This massage focuses on the areas of the body where a lot of stress and tension is held, especially the neck and shoulders, and aims to bring immediate relief to these areas by breaking down the knots and melting away the tension. It also improves circulation in the head, enhances your senses, improves memory and promotes clear thinking. It can also help to improve concentration and alertness, relieve mental and physical tiredness and depression.
A lot of people working in artificially lit and air conditioned office environments often suffer from headaches, and sitting slouched in front of a computer all day causes stress and tension in the neck and shoulders.
Beginning with kneading to the neck and shoulder muscles, the head is then massaged using a variety of techniques. Finally the face is massaged using accupressure points to help relieve sinus pressure and stimulate circulation and increase alertness.
Indian Head Massage can be performed anywhere and will leave you feeling deeply relaxed and rejivenated. As well as the many benefits of massage, it may also relieve the symptoms of:
